The TCS-640 system allows modem handling from a central post
of several peripheral posts along the railway lines (stations,
BA or PL signal boxes) for remote controlling, acquisition of
ON/OFF states, measurements (voltage, current, temperature etc.)
Thanks to its modular conception, the system hardware/software
architecture is open to creation of diversified applications
according to requirements.
The TCS-640 remote control and remote measurement system is
dedicated to resolving multiple railway requirements and makes
it possible to handle a central post together with a group of
peripheral posts, remote controlling, acquisition of ON/OFF
states and measuring analogue quantities
System Configuration:
The system comprises:
CENTRAL POST: a central unit for supervising the entire
system's functioning
PERIPHERAL POSTS: peripheral posts for acquiring data.
CENTRAL POST
Based on a two-level processing platform.
FRONT-END level: handles interface functions with peripheral
posts.
It comprises the following modules:
SWITCHING POWER SUPPLIERS: supply the power for system
operation.
CENTRAL POST MASTER BOARD: a serial interface enables
FRONT-END to BACK-END communication, and communication between
central and peripheral posts that send data for transmission
to the modem board.
MODEM BOARD: dedicated to transmission via available
telephone couple.
BACK-END level: undertakes processing of gathered information
and operator interface. It comprises a computer that houses
system software.
Software used comprises two distinct parts:
MANAGEMENT SOFTWARE: supervises functioning of the overall
plant
OPERATOR INTERFACE SOFTWARE: enables processing of gathered
information and displays it on the monitor.
PERIPHERAL POSTS
These comprise open and flexible hardware systems that allow
configuration modification and/or increase of potential. Each
peripheral post can house electronic boards with a variety of
functions.
POWER SUPPLIERS: supply the voltages required for system
functioning
PERIPHERAL MASTER POST: enables management of the various
service boards (SLAVES) housed in the peripheral post and supplies
the central post with required information.
MODEM BOARD: dedicated to transmission via available
telephone couple
SLAVE BOARDS: service boards that enable acquisition,
measurement and command operations. The slots available in the
peripheral post may house a slave board to be chosen amongst
acquisition, measurement and relay commands.
ACQUISITIONS BOARD: able to acquire on/off states.
ANALOGUE MEASUREMENTS BOARD: has channels for continuous
direct and alternating positive or negative signal acquisition,
with reading of the true efficient value.
RELAY COMMAND BOARD: manages relays for achieving outbound
commands. The system may be configured so that the commands
become permanent.
