  Chronological Event Recorder
The Chronological Event Recorder (RCE) is used chiefly for logging chronologically events that are prevalently relay state variations (railway events).
Elettromeccanica C.M. Chronological Event Recorders are an interesting technological innovation, in line with SFT IS 733 (signal box RCE with 24-48 inputs) and IS 736 (station RCE with 512 inputs), which have replaced hard copy with a removable mass back-up, a Memory Card, that is easy to read and has vast storage capacity. RCE also offfer advanced autodiagnostics.

Special Features:

- acquires state of bodies
- associates "time" information to the state of bodies and variations of state (events)
- recording of data on local memory support (RAM and memory cards)
- manages clock and calendar
- calculates event maintenance time
- autodiagnostics
furthermore, when RCEs are networked (protocol IS 05), a powerful and PC installed operator interface will enable:
- RCE configuration (protected operation)
- real time acquisition of state sequences to states inherent to each input
- request of input state
- request data stored in RAM
request data store d on the memory card
- request autodiagnostic alarms
- request date and time of internal clock
- synchronisation of internal clock
- request total or partial cancellation of the RAM ( protected operation)
- request Firmware update
- scheduled or Operator requested queries
centralise and handle data from several RCEs

Futhermore these advantages are also available:
-
a number of maintenance activities can be eliminated and thus intervention will only be required when a recorder failure is advised from central units, or for collection and storage of the memory card, so the number of managed posts will drop.

- possibility of immediate data control and easy comparison with data arriving from various remote posts
- possibility of a Central Data Post for diagnostics of safety and signalling data or the state of remote posts, such as fire alarms, open doors, etc.
- possibility in future of telephone network switching connection, or other type, between all Centres and a data collection centre of a higher level.
